Study Qualifications

Age Range 18 - 55 years

Participant qualification(s) We are looking for people who: -Are 18-55 years of age -Have a diagnosis of schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or schizophreniform disorder -Are currently taking antipsychotic medication -No more than moderate degree of disorganization

Not eligible if: -street drug use within the past 4 weeks -history of severe hypertension or serious cardiac conditions -history of active suicidal ideation, serious self-destructive behavior, violence or aggressive behavior (previous 2 years) -history of neurological or medical conditions known to seriously affect the brain -Unable capacity to give informed consent -Currently pregnant or nursing

    Following the baseline research assessment, participants will be randomized into one of two groups, aerobic exercise training or stretching and toning training. Participants in both groups will take part in a 12-week, 3 times per week, 1-hour training program. There will also be assessment at week 6 and at week 12.
